Angelina Jolie spills on her pre-marital affair with Brad Pitt. Now Jennifer Aniston breaks her silence about it. Maggie Rodriguez reports.
I know, that call seems unbelievable -- given Aniston went out of her way to praise Pitt, saying she and the actor are on good terms now and that she has ''nothing but absolute admiration for him.''
One would have to assume Pitt's irritation was due to Aniston's comment that it was ''uncool'' Jolie came clean about falling in love with her married co-star in ''Mr. and Mrs. Smith.''
But still, it was Pitt who cheated on Aniston -- leading to a horribly public split that was clearly humiliating for the popular actress.
Another source, close to Jolie, said Wednesday that Pitt and Jolie were ''totally thrown'' by Aniston's Vogue interview, thinking she had already ''moved on ... and wouldn't want to reopen this old wound.''
At any rate, Aniston's spokesman is not commenting on the alleged Pitt call to Aniston, simply e-mailing, ''That's personal information. ... That really is no one's business.''
DEAD HEADS ALERT! Chicago's own Albert Berger, along with Ron Yerxa and Eric Eisner, is co-producing a film about the Grateful Dead legend Jerry Garcia. Berger's earlier productions have included such memorable films as ''Little Miss Sunshine,'' ''Cold Mountain'' and ''Election.'' This new film will focus mostly on Garcia's early life in the San Francisco area, before he joined the band that would become the Grateful Dead.
No word yet on who will play Garcia in the film, based on Robert Greenfield's oral history Dark Star.
BACK TOGETHER? As surprising as it might sound, one of Britney Spears' closest associates tells me, "Don't be surprised if Britney and Kevin [Federline] get back together -- maybe even remarrying.''
Seems the former couple are looking very romantic when together lately, and K-Fed is said to be impressed with how Britney has apparently turned her life around in the past year.
MIRROR IMAGE? When Barbra Streisand was unable to make it to best pal Donna Karan's recent 60th birthday bash in New York, the music legend sent an interesting replacement to croon a few of her classic tunes at the party. It was none other than well-known Streisand impersonator Steven Brinberg, who has toured with his ''Simply Barbra'' show for years.
Given how many drag queens ''do'' Streisand, it's quite the toast to Brinberg that La Barbra picked him as her stand-in!
