The movie stars Josh Brolin as President George W. Bush, Elizabeth Banks as Laura Bush, Ellen Burstyn as Barbara Bush, Sayed Badreya as Saddam Hussein, Richard Dreyfuss as Dick Cheney, Ioan Gruffudd as Tony Blair, Thandie Newton as Condoleezza Rice and Jeffrey Wright as Colin Powell.
The director talked to the Los Angeles Times and explained that from the start he had no intention of presenting Presiden Bush’s life in a Michael Moore-style and considered this approach much more appropriate. "(It) isn't an overly serious movie, but it is a serious subject. ... I see it as the strange unfolding of the American democracy as I have lived it."
Many appeared dissapointed with the project, as they believe that Mr. Bush is presented in a certain light which is far more favorable than it should have been. Still, the movie has its share of fans, as it does present some rather entertaining scenes.
The project began in May and was completed and released just as planned, before the country’s elections.
